Every year Umbraco acknowledges and rewards new extraordinary contributors with the title of Umbraco Most Valued Person (MVP) and renews the MVP status of those who keep the community alive with their contributions.
This year, Umbraco HQ has recognised 66 outstanding individuals who have gone above and beyond to contribute and embody the open-source Umbraco spirit.
Emmanuel Tissera and Mario Lopez from Luminary are two of the three Umbraco MVPs in Australia to be renewed as MVPs for 2022. They have been recognised for their contributions to the Umbraco community within Australia and further afield.
Emmanuel, our Technical Director, was recognised as an MVP for the third consecutive year. Emmanuel received the accolade for his role in running the Australian Umbraco Meetups. His contributions with Umbraco-related blog articles and talks were also recognised as a part of his renewed MVP title.
Emmanuel had the privilege of joining other Umbraco MVPs on the stage at Codegarden 2022 in Copehnagen to celebrate his renewed MVP title. In presenting the title to him, this is what the MVP committee had to say: “Emmanuel, you’re a joy to behold in this community. Your fun and insightful talks have become famous and we love that you’re always sharing, how dedicated you are to the Melbourne Meetup, and your curiosity to learn and teach all things Umbraco. We can’t wait to see what you get up to for the upcoming year!”
Mario Lopez, Solutions Architect at Luminary, had his MVP title renewed for the second year in a row. Mario’s contributions to Umbraco forums, open-source package development and his involvement in running the 24-hour Hackathon were instrumental to his renewed MVP title.
Mario was also recognised as a runner-up in the Umbraco Package Awards. Mario’s back-office extension package Iconic, which is a highly configurable icon picker for Umbraco, received the runner-up for Best Editor Experience.
