Our tireless Tech Lead Emmanuel Tissera has been welcomed into the illustrious ranks of Umbraco MVPs (Most Valuable People). Emmanuel joins 14 other first-time MVPs and 47 returning MVPs to become one of just 61 Umbraco MVPs worldwide. He is one of just a handful of developers to hold the title in Australia.

According to Umbraco, ‘The MVP award is a testament to the efforts and dedication of the community contributors who embody the values of Umbraco and love sharing knowledge and giving back’. It is conferred upon those who demonstrate an exceptional contribution to the platform through activities such as documentation, forum discussions, event organisation, speaking engagements, mentoring, tutorials and content creation.

Emmanuel has been working with Umbraco since 2009 and has spoken about the platform at a range of events including the Umbraco Down Under Festival (UDuff), DDD Melbourne and DDD by night. He is a co-organiser of the Melbourne Umbraco Meetup and has spoken at the Sydney Umbraco Meetup. Emmanuel is also a Certified Master for Umbraco 7 and 8 and has written extensively on Umbraco-related topics.

His portfolio of Umbraco clients includes Pizza Hut, Oliver Hume, Incolink, Netwealth, EISS Super and the Spinal Injury Resource & Support Network.

In welcoming Emmanuel to the MVP group via a global video presentation, Umbraco Founder Niels Hartvig said “If you live in Europe, you may have not experienced the impact that a guy like Emmanuel has. But he has been shouting from the rooftops about Umbraco and about Headless - Heartcore Umbraco - at many events across Australia, including in the wider .NET community. He’s also a huge supporter of the Australian Umbraco Community speaking at and hosting a meetup at least once per month.”
